difference between .att and .pat file

Hi Everyone ,

i want to know what is difference between .att and .pat file.
actually i extract patch file and i find that there are two type of file .att and .pat file so i want to know what is difference between these two file and what is functional difference between in two file.

the ATT file contains attributes for the patch (name, version of SAP basis it can be applied to), the PAT file contains the patch itself.

If you apply a patch using SPAM, the contents of the PAT file will be extracted to your transport directory. SPAM will trigger the necessary steps to import the patch.
