hi,
guyes,
below is some informaton about the transaction su01(parameter field) on which i never worked before and i would like to share with u all, if any one missed it then try it out.
setting user parameter values for parameter:
parameter that can be set on this screen match some fields of the R/3 system. setting default values using these parameters offeres the advantage that every time a user is presented with a screen conataing any of those fields, the values is automatically entered in input fields
INPUT FIELDS DEFAULT VALUES: user parameters r other facilities that r/3 system offeres for fast data input. user parameters r associated with certain common fields in many R/3 business applications r company code, plant purchasing group and so forth
in order to define these parameters u have to know the technical details of the fields u want to set. to get the parameter name (PID)press F1 function u want to set. this function display a help screen for the field name and so on. on the right side u can c the parameter ID field.
if u always work with the same plant u c enter that parameter in ur default. to do so select system 2.) user profile 3.) own data from the main menu. on this screen click on parameter ID code and the default value upon press enter key. system will automatically dispaly the defination of parameters as they like.
parameter refers to parameter ID which u can find using the technical information for the fields
in the value field enter the values u want to assign as the default any time and R/3 will present that screen

shaista

User parameters supply defaults to SAP fields. If a field is indicated, the system automatically fills in the default value. They are contained in a user's master record. In the parameters maintenance screen, choose F1. A description screen should pop up. The two input fields on the parameter maintenance screen are described briefly below. You can display all parameter IDs defined in the system by choosing F4. Selecting one with F1 shows more information.
You can also find parameter ID's in Table TPARA.
