Hi Pawan...

firstly swaps come if your virtual memory is not set according to sap standards

thats 3 times of RAM

and in swaps the most important buffer is program buffer

these buffers r dependent on the profile parameters

so if u wan to increase the swap or buffer size, first see your virtual memory is set three times of the ram size.

and then u need to increase the buffer sizes using the profile parameters and that is done in tcode rz10

u need to double click the buffer which u r gettin swap in st02 and u can see the current parameters tab jus click it and u can see the parameters corresponding that particular buffer size

now goto rz10 and in instance profile u need to change the parameter which u got from st02

after changing the parameter u need to restart / bounce the sap server or u can only stop down and start up the sap instance from management console.....

but remember 1 thing that u should take the backup of the profile directory residing in usr/sap/sid/sys/profile
and also take the backup of run directory before changing the parameters...............i.e, usr/sap/sid/sys/exe/run

or for ecc6 ---usr/sap/sid/sys/exe/uc/nti386.....

thats it !!!!
