statuses of work process

What are the different types of work process statuses like Private, unhold...........? Please explain abt them?
Status of workprocess
1: Runnig - Work process is executing a user request
2: Waiting - work process is idle and waiting for any request
3: Hold - The work process is held by single user although a hold state can be normal,having to many process in hold state effects the system performance
