hi shahid

prerequisites for sap ecc6.0 installation is same as u do b4 4.7 installation
there is no difference

1 setting the virtual memory 3 times of ram

2 installing the loopback network adaptor if u dont have the real network or lan

3 installing java 2 software development kit (J2SDK 1.4.X) not greater than j2sdk1.4
coz sap doesnt support jdk 1.5 and above
this java is only for runtime / sap gui screen compiler
after installing the j2sdk 1.4.x
set the path in environmental variables....

check weather javac is running in command prompt.

apart from these there is one more that ur system hostname must not exceed the maximum of 13 characters which should not contain any special characters

u should b logged in only by administrator user
any guest user will not work for sap installation

apart from these u must go with the standard recommended operating systems such as server 2003 enterprise edition service pack 2 32/64 bit

coz the sap software is also operating system dependent

regarding the sizing it is dependent on which database u r using like if u r using oracle u need minimum of 100 GB 1 partition and for mssql 80GB 1 partition for sap is enough where the datafiles of sap database are saved , and this does not include operating system drive and that needs minimum of 10 to 15 GB partition.
