Perfomance of R3

HI Friends,
Please tell me how can we improve the performance of the R3 .
Also what can be done to improve the portal performance .
PLease provide few tips ...

hi,

see that the virtual memory is always set 3 times of the RAM size and regularly check whether all the background jobs r running or not,,

bcoz these batch jobs reorgs unwanted tables and data in all sap buffers

Maintain the efficient values for buffers sizes in profile parameters depending on the usage of database, abap usage and java engine usage if present.



for portal that is nothing but using the java engine and html gui u need to have good hardware like Good RAM and good processor speed.
